Chung Mong-kyu, president of the Korea Football Association, who said he changes his mind several times a day, has decided to challenge for the fourth term.

We will work on the document on the 2nd of next month.

We plan to submit a document asking the Korean Sports Council to examine whether they are eligible for a second term and an expression of intention to register a candidate to the Korea Football Association.

The process is taken in time for the deadline, exactly 50 days before the start of the next president's term.

Chairman Chung Mong-gyu, who has been the head of the association for 12 years since 2013, is spending "difficult years" exposing various administrative difficulties, including noise from the process of appointing Hong Myung-bo and attempts to pardon match fixing officials.

I felt the fan spirit all over me at the A-match stadium, and I was called to the National Assembly and heard a stinging rebuke.

It has been reported that the opposition of the family members who are dissuaded from running for office is strong, but they say they are very willing to restore their honor.

[Jung Mong-gyu / President of the Korea Football Association (National Assembly last September): Regarding my future course of action, I will carefully open up all possibilities for the development of Korean football and make a decision after careful consideration. I think history will evaluate it.]

As Lee Ki-heung, chairman of the Korean Sports and Olympic Committee, passed the second term without difficulty with the IOC members' sign despite various allegations of irregularities, it is widely expected that Chung Mong-kyu, the AFC's executive director, will not have a major obstacle to the evaluation of the sports fair committee.

Chairman Chung Mong-gyu will announce his aspirations and thoughts on his bid for the fourth term around the candidate registration period, which begins on Christmas Day.

With former national soccer team coach Huh Jung-moo already throwing his hat in the ring, the election on January 29 next year is likely to be a two-way race with Chairman Chung joining.
