Chairman Chung Mong-gyu will announce his aspirations and thoughts on his bid for the fourth term around the candidate registration period, which begins on Christmas Day.
With former national soccer team coach Huh Jung-moo already throwing his hat in the ring, the election on January 29 next year is likely to be a two-way race with Chairman Chung joining.
