Cold wave warnings have been issued in the Seoul metropolitan area and central area, including Seoul.

Tomorrow morning, the temperature in Seoul is expected to drop to minus 12 degrees Celsius, and the wind chill is expected to be lower due to strong winds.

I'll connect you to a reporter and find out more.

Reporter Jun-hyung Jeon, a cold wave warning has been issued in Seoul, right?

[Reporter]
Yes, this is the first cold wave warning issued in Seoul this winter.

A cold wave warning was issued as of 9 p.m. tonight, with morning temperatures expected to drop below minus 12 degrees Celsius for two consecutive days tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

Recently, there has been no strong cold in Seoul as temperatures have been maintained higher than in previous years, but in fact, the strongest cold wave is coming this winter.

Especially with strong winds, the weather will feel much colder than the actual temperature.

The Korea Meteorological Administration predicted that the temperature felt in Seoul and other metropolitan areas will rise and fall between minus 5 degrees Celsius and minus 10 degrees Celsius, but will drop to around minus 20 degrees Celsius tomorrow morning.

In addition, the cold will be raging all day tomorrow as the wind chill will remain around minus 15 degrees Celsius even in the middle of the day.

Currently, cold wave warnings have been expanded not only in Seoul but also throughout the central part.

Cold wave warnings issued when temperatures fall below minus 15 degrees Celsius have also been extended from northern Gangwon to all parts of Gangwon, northeastern Gyeonggi Province, North Chungcheong Province, and northern North Gyeongsang Province.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said the cold wave will continue for a long time until the morning of the coming weekend and asked them to prepare for freezing and freezing accidents.

Snow conditions are also emergency in Honam and Chungcheong areas, but heavy snow continues for a while?

[Reporter]
Yes, snow is expected to fall for at least two more days around the west coast.

Currently, heavy snow warnings are in place around the west coast of Chungcheongnam-do, Jeonbuk, and Gyeongnam.

Other inland areas of Honam are under heavy snow preliminary warning.

As another cold air passes through the West Sea overnight, snow clouds are expected to develop strongly and spray a lot of snow on the West Coast and Jeonbuk.

It looks like 20 to 30cm more snow will fall by the day after tomorrow, Friday, and as some places have strong snow of 3 to 5cm per hour, caution should be paid to prevent damage to facilities.
