Jeju, the biggest disaster drill ever in the island region...a national fire drill

2024.10.31 PM 05:25
The national emergency rescue training was held in Jeju in 2024.

About 60 organizations and 1,000 people from the private and public sectors participated in the training, assuming complex disasters such as forest fires and building collapses caused by a crash landing of an engine fire in Jeju.

In particular, considering the lack of fire fighting conditions in the island area, we focused on the procedure of mobilizing fire fighting forces in other areas to the island area using military transport planes and landing ships.

Fire Commissioner Heo Seok-gon also said in a post-training session that the biggest achievement of the training was the confirmation that there was no disruption in mobilizing the nation's firefighting forces to overcome the difficulties of large-scale disasters in the island area.

This training was the first ever in Jeju and the largest ever in an island area.
