A gangster who stole money after attracting teenagers to fake gambling sites to make gambling debts has been caught by the police.

It turned out that he threatened to inform his parents' company and acquaintances of gambling if he couldn't pay back the money and even forced him to work part-time.

This is reporter Kim Ki-soo.

It is a cafe in Chungju, North Chungcheong Province.

High school students are sitting on one side and gambling on the Internet on their mobile phones.

The gambling site they participated in was a fake site run by a gangster in his 20s with an acquaintance.

Mr. A and others recruited four teenagers who did not attend school as recruitment books, and the recruitment books lured students who said they needed money to gambling sites.

They created gambling debts by receiving money from victims in the name of point charging, and charging up to 10 million won worth of points when all the points were exhausted.

It also showed the meticulousness of filming gambling in order to use it as a threat to victims.

Mr. A's group threatened to distribute pictures to his parents' company's website and acquaintances if the victims who suffered gambling debts failed to pay back their money, and even forced him to work part-time to earn money and pay them back.

Due to their coercion, the victim was deprived of a gold necklace worth 16 million won.

Six victims were extorted from money and goods in this way, and the amount of damage amounted to 30 million won.

It has been confirmed that the victims were reluctant to report because they were afraid of being retaliated by A, a gangster.

[Lee Deok-gyu / Chungbuk National Police Agency Detective Agency: In some cases, seniors assaulted students who did not pay their gambling debts, resulting in many treatment diagnoses. It has been confirmed that he made threats in this way. It's a lot of fear in students. Actually. So I'm afraid of retaliation..]

However, A's crime was caught when one of the victims told his parents about the damage, and the police arrested all six people, including A, after a three-month investigation.

The police handed over two people, including A, who led the crime, to the prosecution in custody and are investigating whether they committed additional crimes and whether there are more victims.
