Gachon University Gil Hospital began performing high-level robotic surgery in 2019 and achieved 2,000 cases in five years.
Gil Hospital opened a robotic surgery center in 2019 when it first introduced the 4th generation's latest robotic surgery equipment, Da Vinci Xi, and has since introduced an additional equipment in November last year.
With a field of view magnified to 10 times greater than high-definition 3D images, the Da Vinci Xi has several features, including a freely rotating robotic arm.
For this reason, it is mainly used in urology surgery that requires precise treatment because it can operate carefully in areas where doctors cannot reach even with minimal incision in the skin, and is also often used in gynecology that treats thyroid cancer and cervical cancer.
