Cheongju Oksan Geumgye Bridge "Critical Defect"...a total ban on vehicle traffic

Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do, will expand the restrictions on vehicle traffic of more than 5 tons on Geumgye Bridge in Oksan-myeon to all vehicles.

The Geumgye Bridge, which was completed in 1992, was found to have serious defects in the second half of this year, with the upper plate sagging due to erosion under the bridge bridge.

As a result, Cheongju City has restricted vehicle traffic of more than 5 tons since yesterday (6th), but has expanded it to all vehicle traffic restrictions as residents complain of anxiety.

Cheongju-si plans to conduct an emergency precise safety diagnosis to establish appropriate repair and reinforcement or bridge re-establishment measures.
