A father in his 20s, who physically abused his four-year-old daughter by kicking her, who made a mistake in toilet, was also sentenced to prison in the appeal trial.

The Chuncheon District Court dismissed the appeal filed by 29-year-old A, who was handed over to trial on charges of child abuse and sentenced him to eight months in prison.

Mr. A was put on trial in November last year on charges of physical abuse, such as kicking his 4-year-old daughter over and kicking her up again for making a toilet mistake at a convenience store in Wonju, Gangwon-do.

A was also accused of assaulting his wife twice in January, including swearing and beating her violently.

Wonju Ji-won of Chuncheon District Court, who was in charge of the first trial, was arrested in court after sentenced to prison, saying, "It is shocking, not seen by normal parental behavior or disciplinary methods," and the appeals court also said there was no reason to change the sentencing.
