Jeollabuk-do Provincial Government announced that avian influenza and AI detected in the mandarin duck sample captured in Jeongeupcheon on the 5th were confirmed to be H5N1 type highly pathogenic.
Authorities have set up a control post in the detection area to control the access of people and vehicles within a 500m radius.
In addition, AI inspections will be conducted at 63 farms within a 10km radius of the detection point, and disinfection and movement restrictions will be carried out for three weeks.
In Jeonbuk, highly pathogenic AI was also detected in wild bird feces captured in Mangyeonggang River, Gunsan, on the 2nd of last month.
