Kim Man-bae, a major shareholder of Hwacheon Daeyu Co., a key figure in the suspicion of preferential treatment for the Daejang-dong development project, denied allegations that he paid 1.1 billion won to the daughter of former special prosecutor Park Young-soo.

The Seoul Central District Court held its first hearing today (8th) on charges of violating the anti-graft law.

Kim's side denied the charges and said they would review the records and reveal their detailed positions on the next day.

In addition, he asked the prosecution to organize the contents of the indictment, saying that the explanation of the charges presented by the prosecution goes against "Japaneseism of prosecutors."

On the other hand, the prosecution refuted that the indictment was not used to give a prediction, saying that it needed to explain the progress of the 1.1 billion won.

Kim is accused of paying 1.1 billion won five times to Park's daughter, who worked at Hwacheon Daeyu from September 2019 to February 2021.

Prosecutors indicted Kim in August, believing that Kim promised to give Park 5 billion won in return for favors related to the Daejang-dong project and paid a part of 1.1 billion won through his daughter.
