The search for 12 missing sailors continued when the ship sank near Jeju Island.
As the vessel's location changed along the current and the depth of the water was deep, the authorities expanded the search and put in additional specialized equipment.

Even during the overnight search, the underwater search continued because the missing crew could not be found.
Navy special equipment was also deployed in the search.
[Jeong Moo-won / Jeju Regional Coast Guard Security and Safety Director: Sona is sound waves. Once positioned by the value reflected by shooting sound waves, the R.O.V. (remotely controlled underwater robot) can see exactly what the site is like because it has a camera and these parts attached to it..]
As a result of identifying the location of the sunken vessel and searching using a remote-controlled underwater robot, it was confirmed that the hull sank straight to the sea floor without overturning.
In addition, it was found that a net was caught in the steering room in front of the ship and connected to the water surface.
The Coast Guard expanded its scope and continued the search, but no missing persons were found.
In the case of underwater searches, the depth is too deep, and there are too many nets entangled around the ship, so there is a limit to the human search.
The Coast Guard plans to clean up the surrounding environment with cranes on barges before deploying professional deep-sea divers.
[Jeong Moo-won / Head of Security Safety Division, Jeju Provincial Coast Guard: Crane barges are not intended to lift the ship, but as you can see on the picture, they help remove fishing nets or deep-sea divers go in and work....]
Deep-sea divers and barges are expected to arrive in the area of the accident as early as Sunday afternoon.
If deep-sea divers are deployed in earnest and access to the hull directly, the search for missing people is expected to speed up.
