The 5th intergovernmental negotiations for the UN Plastic Convention will be held for a week in BEXCO, Busan, on the 25th.
The negotiations are designed to create an international agreement that is binding through intergovernmental negotiations on plastic pollution, including marine plastics, in accordance with the U.N. Environmental Assembly's resolutions.
The first meeting was held in Punta del Este, Uruguay, in November 2022, and the fifth and last Busan meeting is a place to come up with concrete measures against plastic pollution.
Busan City officials explained that 4,000 people, including government delegations from 170 UN member states, international organizations, and environmental experts, will attend the meeting.
