One of the biggest problems for island villagers is getting enough clean water.

Construction is underway to supply tap water to four island areas, including Jangbongdo Island, which belongs to Bukdo-myeon, Ongjin-gun, offshore Incheon, by next year.

Jangbongdo Island, Bukdo-myeon, Ongjin-gun, which takes 30 minutes by sea from Incheon.

Incheon Sky Water, tap water, began to be supplied for the first time in 330 days following a nearby island believer last year.

Residents will be able to escape from the groundwater mixed with salt and soil.

[Hyun Kyung-sook / Residents of Jangbong 5-ri, Ongjin-gun: There's not enough water, so there's muddy water and the number of cases. That's how I lived. Just. But now, we have a water supply that we can eat. I feel good because good water comes through the procedure.]

To commemorate the first tap water supply in Jangbong Island, a watering ceremony was held.

I've finished the water quality test,
Piping work is also in full swing to supply each household
.

Tap water will be supplied to all 350 households by the end of the year.

The local water supply distribution project that Incheon City is under construction is about 2,000 people from 1,194 households in the island area belonging to Bukdo-myeon.

To this end, we also installed an undersea pipeline of more than 4km, the longest in Korea, from Sammok Port in Incheon to Shindo and Modo to Jangbongdo Island.

[Yoo Jung-bok / Mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City: We expect to improve conditions for settlement and the lives of citizens and local residents as well as resolve the water supply shortage for local residents]

The Incheon Metropolitan Government expects the number of tourists to increase as the limited water supply during the holiday season will be eliminated if all tap water supplies are supplied.
