North Gyeongsang Province said it will make the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Gyeongju next year an economic and cultural APEC.
Lee Cheol-woo, governor of North Gyeongsang Province, said he will consult with local business leaders, including Choi Tae-won, chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to bring global entrepreneurs to Gyeongju to hold an economic conference at the same time as the APEC summit.
He also stressed that he will discover various ways to promote the Korean Wave and Korean culture to the world, such as Gyeongju, Korean food, and hanbok, and hold it as cultural APEC.
