There are many places where heavy snow has accumulated as it is, but I am worried that the temperature has fallen significantly.

There is a high possibility of thin ice or icy roads on some roads, which is feared to cause sliding accidents.

In the afternoon, snow, which was forecast inland such as the metropolitan area, was less likely.

I'm worried because the heavy snow fell all the time and the temperature fell. There are a lot of places that are piled up, but it's probably affected, right?

[Reporter]
Yes, it is. Large roads with a lot of cars are fine, but there are still a lot of snow on the side streets, roads around residential areas, in front of apartments, near parking lots, and tunnel entrances.

In particular, as temperatures drop significantly overnight, there is a possibility that these areas may be formed of thin ice or ice, which is feared to cause sliding accidents.

When passing through a side road or a shaded area, slow down and move

The elderly and children should wear gloves and take their hands out of their pockets as much as possible in case of a fall on the icy road.

It is also necessary to prepare for the cold weather.

This morning, the temperature in Seoul dropped to minus 3.4 degrees Celsius ahead of winter, marking the coldest day.

Many places recorded the lowest temperature this fall, mainly in the central region, including Paju -7 degrees, Cheorwon -7.7 degrees, and Daegwallyeong -11 degrees.

In particular, Anheung Sosari in Hoengseong, Gangwon Province, plunged to minus 16.3 degrees Celsius.

The colder weather than usual will continue until tomorrow morning, the weekend.

Tomorrow morning, it is expected to be -2 degrees in Seoul and -6 degrees in Paju, and the wind chill in the central inland is expected to be close to -10 degrees.

And there was another snow forecast this afternoon, but the possibility decreased?

[Reporter]
Yes, it is.

Snow, which had been expected in the Seoul metropolitan area since this afternoon, has become less likely.

The Korea Meteorological Administration drastically revised the amount of snow in Seoul and other metropolitan areas in its 11 o'clock forecast.

Southern Gyeonggi Province, which was expected to receive up to 5cm of snow, is expected to fall around 1cm, and Seoul and other Gyeonggi areas are only likely to see scattered raindrops or snow.

If you look at the current radar image, as cold air moves south from the northwest, snow clouds are being formed on the west coast of Chungcheongnam-do and the west coast of Honam due to the topographical influence.

Up to 7cm of snow is expected in Chungcheong and Honam in the future, 1 to 3cm in Jeju Island.

Snow on the west coast will continue into the early hours of the weekend and the inland areas will remain mostly sunny on weekends and holidays.
