From today (12th) to 19th, the National Archives and the Presidential Archives under the Ministry of Public Administration and Security will check the status of management, including the preservation of records related to the declaration of emergency martial law.

The inspection targets 15 organizations, including the Presidential Secretariat, the National Security Office, the Ministry of Presidential Security and the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, the National Intelligence Service, the National Police Agency, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, the Army, Navy and Air Force Headquarters, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Intelligence Command, the Counterintelligence Command, and the 3707th Unit.

The inspection comes after the National Archives sent an official letter to 15 related agencies regarding the December 3 emergency martial law on the 6th, requesting the thorough preservation of records related to the declaration of martial law.

The National Archives will demand immediate corrective action if insufficient matters are found due to on-site inspection.
