The Gyeonggi provincial government said it has selected 282 high-value delinquents with construction machinery and conducted an on-site survey to collect 1.348 billion won in arrears.The
provincial government first seized 1,584 construction machines of 2,248 delinquents between April and August, and later collected taxes from 162 workplaces that completed their investigations after searching for large delinquents of more than 5 million won.
In addition, excavators and forklifts of 14 unpaid delinquents were seized and auctioned.
Of the remaining 120 businesses, 73 have been identified as closed or disguised, while 47 are currently under investigation, the province said.
Roh Seung-ho, head of the provincial tax justice department, said, "We will collect the amount of arrears of large delinquents who are capable of paying until the end."
