On this day, Kim Jong-jin was asked by reporters after introducing his second album, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, which was newly created through three months of album mix work. Asked about recent developments in music technology and changes in the music industry, he said, "I'm sorry, but I think music has died since the 2000s. However, only the producer survived," he said.
He said, "Modern musicians go in the form of taking industry and seeking fun rather than adding the ultimate sound. I think the music will disappear because it will remain flinty there," he said, giving a somewhat negative outlook.
Referring to the difference between popular art such as music and collective art such as art, Kim Jong-jin said, "Popular music, unlike art, has no choice but to live at the same price. Meanwhile, the album, which Kim Jong-jin participated in the mix, is the second work in the Make-Do-And-Mend series of spring, summer, fall, and winter, and is designed to revive the warm and peaceful sensibilities of the past in the present so that you can enjoy music beyond the times.
He said, "We implemented a modern sound while maintaining the sensibility of the past. I hope that parents and children will listen together, sympathize, and understand each other," he said.
In addition, when asked about the late Jeon Tae-gwan, who was a colleague, Kim Jong-jin said, "Jeon Tae-gwan was very clumsy. "After playing, he was in a daze and had to tell me what was in front of him when he walked," he recalled after laughing. "When Kim Jong-jin and Jeon Tae-kwan were in their 20s, I think it was a time when musicians and merchants were full of their own spirit."
