Group Big Bang G-Dragon and Black Pink Rosé are sweeping the music charts. It is all the more eye-catching because it is an achievement made while the two men, who were working together at YG Entertainment, are taking their own steps.

First, it was junior Rosé who received the music chart. Rosé topped domestic music charts such as Melon, Genie, Bugs, and Vibe with "Apartment (APT)" released on the 18th of last month. The song has steadily maintained its No. 1 ranking and entered the long-term box office.

In particular, the song, which was sung with Bruno Mars, also stood out on the global charts. It ranked No. 1 on Spotify in the U.S., No. 8 on the Billboard main single chart "Hot 100" in the U.S., and No. 4 on the U.K. official single chart "Top 100." In response, Rosé is rewriting her record as a K-pop female artist.

"Apartment" surpassed 100 million views in five days after the music video was released, and as of November 1, it exceeded 220 million views. The music video has maintained its position as the number one popular video and popular music in Korea, ranking first in Korea and first in the U.S. trend.

Senior G-Dragon challenged the success of "Apartment." He released his new song "POWER" on the 31st of last month. Upon its release, the song ranked No. 1 on major real-time music charts in Korea. In particular, Melon ranked second on the "Top 100" chart within five minutes of its release, closely trailing Rosé's "Apartment."

G-Dragon's comeback is his first as a solo artist in about seven years, so he gained public attention early on, and this interest seems to have been directly linked to the success of "Power." The music video also exceeded 1.5 million views within an hour of its release and ranked at the top of YouTube's soaring popularity.

Currently, both of them have left YG Entertainment and are taking their own steps.

G-Dragon concluded its exclusive contract with YG Entertainment in June last year. Since then, various types of contracts have been discussed, but in December of the same year, G-Dragon officially announced that he would accompany his new agency, Galaxy Corporation, signaling a complete separation from YG.

Rosé and other Black Pink members left YG Entertainment in December last year and went their separate ways. Among them, Rosé signed a management contract with The Black Label through her relationship with producer Teddy, and the other three members each set up a one-man agency. They only re-signed management contracts for group activities with YG Entertainment.
