This day was the 5th anniversary of Shandong Ship's service.
The J-15D, a modified J-15-carrier, is a double-seat type with two pilots on board and features the ability to disrupt enemy radars and communication networks using electronic means.
They can also be loaded with missiles for air strikes or air battles.
It was first opened to the public at the 15th China International Aerospace Expo (Zuhai Air Show) held last month.
Earlier, two J-15D aircraft were spotted over Shandong during the first two aircraft carrier exercises of the Chinese First Carrier Liaoning and Shandong.
The Chinese Navy expected the J-15D to play a significant role in the battle for carrier fleet control.
