The government said it would import 1,100 tons more by next month, with 16 tons of Chinese cabbage first unveiled amid high prices of cabbage.

Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Minister Song Mi-ryeong said the situation will improve when cabbage prices peak this week and fall cabbage shipments begin in the middle of next month.

The government plans to import 100 tons of Chinese cabbage this week, 200 tons per week, and 1,100 tons by October.

As of today (30th), the retail price of a cabbage product was 9,662 won, down more than 300 won from the 27th, which was 9,963 won.

However, it is still 34% higher compared to the average year.
