Opposition lawmakers from the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee repeatedly pressured prosecutor Park and other witnesses to appear a day before a hearing on prosecutor Park Sang-yong's impeachment case, which investigated the alleged remittance to North Korea.

At a press conference at the National Assembly, they said that the prosecution's manipulation of statements, conciliation and intimidation raised by former Gyeonggi Province lieutenant governor Lee Hwa-young at the time of the investigation into the remittance to North Korea were very specific, and demanded that prosecutor Park come to the hearing and make his position clear.

Rep. Kim Seung-won of the Democratic Party, the opposition secretary of the Judiciary Committee, said that if the witnesses adopted in the hearing are not present, they cannot be forcibly recruited, but stressed that the parliamentary audit could issue an accompanying order in the future.
