Gasoline and diesel prices at domestic gas stations have fallen for 10 weeks. The price of gasoline per liter of

fell to 1,500 won in 33 weeks.

Although the slowdown in prices, which fell to the 1% level last month, will be supported, strong oil prices from the Middle East are considered a variable.

Gas prices at gas stations across the country continue to fall.

As it has fallen for 10 consecutive weeks, the average gasoline price has fallen to 1,587 won.

It is the first time in 33 weeks that it has entered the 1,500 won range since February.

Diesel also fell by nearly 15 won per liter to 1,420 won.

[Cho Sang-beom / Head of the Korea National Oil Association's External Cooperation Office: Oil prices have been on the decline since two to three weeks ago, so domestic oil prices that appeared this week also continued to decline. I think it will continue to decline next week.]

Due to the decline in oil prices, the green light has been turned on immediately for price stability.

The reason why prices were in the 1% range last month was because of the large impact of petroleum, which turned downward for the first time in seven months.

[Kong Mi-sook / Statistics Korea Economic Trend Statistics Director (last 2): (Prices) are heavily weighted in petroleum and are affected by international oil prices, so it will vary depending on how international oil prices change.]

Prices will depend on international oil prices in the future, and the biggest variable is the situation in the Middle East.

If Israel strikes Iranian oil facilities, oil prices will inevitably jump.

[Park Hyun-do / Professor of Euromena Institute at Sogang University] Can't oil facilities have storage and oil production facilities? However, even if it is a storage facility, if it is attacked, the world's oil prices will have no choice but to move.]

In fact, as tensions from the Middle East grow, international oil prices are already strong, rising nearly 1%.

If this trend continues, domestic gas prices could fluctuate with a time difference of two to three weeks
It seems too early to feel safe even with the increase in consumer prices in the
1% range.
