It is a subtropical vegetable that can be easily seen in supermarkets these days.

However, subtropical vegetables are weak against diseases and pests, so it is said that there is a great difficulty for farmers to grow.

The Rural Development Administration has launched customized technical support.

This vegetable, which is in the midst of harvesting, is Gongsimchae, a subtropical vegetable.It is also called

'Morning Glory', and in Southeast Asia, it is a food that is served on the table every day like our kimchi.

Since 2017, this farm has been growing subtropical vegetables such as Gongsimchae on a full floor scale.

However, the cultivation method is very different from ordinary vegetables, so we have experienced considerable trial and error.

Insects occur frequently and it is difficult to produce a series.

However, thanks to technical support from the Rural Development Administration, the labor force was reduced by more than 50% and profits increased by 1.5 times.

The domestic cultivation area of subtropical vegetables is steadily expanding due to the expansion of multicultural families from Southeast Asia.

On top of that, due to global warming, the subtropical climate zone is expected to exceed 50% of the cultivated area of our country by 2050.

The subtropical vegetable technical support group is pushing for customized technical support for 17 crops, including Gongsimchae, coriander, and green beans.

Considering that there are not many diseases and insect control drugs to be used for the cultivation of subtropical vegetables, the Rural Development Administration has decided to promote the registration of pesticides ex officio and actively introduce eco-friendly control methods using natural enemies.
