At around 12:45 p.m. today, a hiker who ate the roots of poisonous herbs was rescued from Garisan Mountain in Pumgeol-ri, Dong-myeon, Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do after showing signs of paralysis.

Two of the three hikers in their 50s and 60s are known to have eaten "tootball flower roots" in the mountains, and in particular, 51-year-old Yoo was taken to a nearby hospital by air force helicopter after showing signs of paralysis and poor breathing.

The horseshoe flower root, called choo, is used as a pain-related medicine, but if taken incorrectly, it causes difficulty in breathing and nerve attacks, and is a poisonous plant used as a poison material in the Joseon Dynasty.
