Israeli forces have blocked civilian access to Lebanon's border area adjacent to Lebanon and expanded operational areas amid day-to-day airstrikes against pro-Iranian militant group Hezbollah.

The Israeli military has designated Manara, Ifta and Malkia regions in northern Israel as closed military zones and announced a ban.

The area is all near the "Blue Line," a kind of border established by the U.N. Security Council between Israel and Lebanon.

The Israeli military also says Hezbollah raided an underground tunnel used as a stronghold and hideout for attacks in northern Israel, killing dozens of its members and seizing a large number of weapons.

At the same time, airstrikes were carried out in Gaza, Palestine, in the name of sweeping Hamas remnants.

At least 17 people, including nine children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike in northern Gaza, AFP reported, citing Gaza officials.

The Israeli military says Hamas has surrounded the area and launched an attack-based dismantling operation following intelligence that it is attempting to rebuild operational capabilities in Zabaliya.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah and the al-Quds brigade under the Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad claimed to have fired missiles and drones at Israel.

Israel's military says one of the projectiles from northern Gaza into the country was intercepted and the rest fell into open space.
