The Korean Council on Medical Education has protested that the Ministry of Education is disabling the Korea Institute of Medical Education and Evaluation, a medical school evaluation agency.

On the 27th of last month, the Ministry of Education announced a legislative revision that would give a supplementary period of more than a year if a medical school fails to be certified due to a major disaster.

The Korean Medical Education Council criticized this as the government's dangerous idea to cover up the education deterioration that will occur after the excessive increase in medical schools.

He also stressed that the Ministry of Education's undue pressure to leave students in insufficient educational conditions and to qualify for the national examination is an act that harms the public's health.
