The Seoul Metropolitan Government's income security model, "Dimdimdol Income" policy, has been in effect for two years, and the rate of applicants' escape from supply and demand has nearly doubled compared to last year.

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon emphasized the role of the public for the self-reliance of the vulnerable, and said he will start discussions to expand it nationwide next year.

29-year-old Park Ki-seok, who is preparing for a dental hygienist certificate test with his single mother.

Until his father, who was receiving hemodialysis treatment, recently passed away, the basic living expenses of 1.2 million won that a family of three received a month were tight.

However, as the support fund increased to 1.7 million won due to the income of stepping stones, it was able to contribute a little to the cost of my father's dialysis treatment.

Now Park's dream is to show her proud side to her late father after successfully getting a job.

[Hong Min-ki / Family care young man: If I pay utility bills from the original recipient support fund and solve it, all I think about is what I should do next month. I do it because I have mental leeway now. I keep trying to get out of this situation more.]

As such, it has been found that the Seoul Metropolitan Government's income security policy experiment, Stepping Stone Income, encourages recipients to work and serves as a springboard for self-reliance.

Looking at the effects of the policy over the past two years, the income of recipients has increased, and the rate of de-supply and demand that no longer requires support has more than doubled.

Families with increased earned income rose from 21% to 31% in a year.

They receive half of the difference between the standard amount and income based on 85% of median income, and unlike the basic living system, which disqualifies them when income increases, it is designed to increase gross income as they work, proving their role as a ladder for class movement.

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon introduced the policy achievements to domestic and foreign social welfare scholars and expressed his ambition to start discussing nationalization and make it a standard in Korea.

[Sehun/Seoul Mayor: Let's start a discussion on how to care for the polarization, the rich, the poor, and the poor and the poor and move toward a future of hope]

The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to analyze the performance of the stepping stone income payment by June next year and derive final research results to verify the feasibility of nationalization.
