Japan's Tokyo Stock Exchange will extend the closing time of trading by 30 minutes from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. from the 5th of next month.

It is the first time in 70 years that the Tokyo Stock Exchange has increased trading hours since it delayed its closing time from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in 1954.

At the same time, the Tokyo Stock Exchange called on listed companies to advance the time to announce their settlement.

Many Japanese listed companies often made related announcements after 3 p.m. so that the settlement of accounts would not have a sudden impact on stock prices.
