Public Housing Supply Metropolitan Area-Non-metropolitan Area Gap 2.5x

The gap between the metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas has more than doubled as the government has intensively allocated public housing supplies to the metropolitan area to curb housing prices in the metropolitan area.

According to LH's submission to Moon Jin-seok of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, LH has approved 103,400 business plans to the metropolitan area for three years from 2021, while 39,500 households in the non-metropolitan area, 2.6 times more supply to the metropolitan area.

Gyeonggi-do Province had the largest supply of public housing during the same period, with 91,200 households, but Gwangju and Jeju showed large regional deviations, with no approval of a single public housing project plan for three years.
