People's Power protested the Democratic Party's push to revise parliamentary rules that exclude the ruling party's participation in recommending candidates for permanent special prosecutors to investigate cases against the president and his family.

Floor leader Choo Kyung-ho criticized the Democratic Party's re-issuance of the Kim Gun-hee Special Prosecutor Act and the revision of the permanent special prosecution system at the National Assembly's audit meeting, saying that the opposition party will monopolize the right to investigate and prosecute.

Deputy floor leader Bae Joon-young pointed out that the Democratic Party's intention is a thinly veiled trick to move toward impeachment with the special prosecutor as a stepping stone.

Yoo Sang-beom, secretary of the ruling party's judiciary committee, also said that the current rules were originally made according to the ruling and opposition parties' agreement at the time of enactment in 2014, and that the special prosecutor's office is not a matter that can be controlled by partisan gains and losses.
