A meeting was held to discuss ways to improve the operation of autonomous crime prevention units in Chungcheongnam-do.

On the afternoon of the 5th, at the Agricultural Technology Center in Buyeo-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, 'Only Korea! Only with the people! - A Conversation with the Chungnam Self-Defense Association, a sustainable safety society watchman," was held under the auspices of the YC Youth Association and the Chungcheongnam-do Self-Defense Association."

Five panelists, including Yoon Kyung-sook, executive director of Wise Women's Action (CEO of the YC Youth Association), Sung Sam-young, senior administrator for civil society at the president's office, Kim Tae-guk, chairman of the Korea Federation of Autonomous Crimes, Yoo Han-jong, chairman of the South Chungcheong Provincial Federation of Autonomous Crimes, and Yoon Hee-shin, chairman of the South Chungcheong Provincial Federation of Autonomous Crimes, attended the meeting to find a solution by sharing suggestions and difficulties related to autonomous crime prevention.

In particular, in April last year, more than 60 years after its establishment, the self-defense force, which had a poor foundation for establishment, was legislated by the enforcement of the Act on the Establishment and Operation of Self-Defense Forces, leading to questions and answers on the improvement of the system, such as expanding support and strengthening education.

In particular, various topics were presented to improve the operation of autonomous crime prevention units, including insufficient dispatch allowances and support for operating expenses, expansion of insurance coverage to diseases caused by crime prevention activities, and resolution of the organization's aging problem.

Yoon Kyung-sook, executive director of the committee, appealed to the government and local governments to pay attention to providing essential resources for those responsible for crime prevention and regional safety, and Sung Sam-young, senior administrator of the civil society office, said, "Autonomous crime prevention is a legal organization based on voluntary nature, but at the same time acts as a watchman for local safety," adding, "We will closely review with relevant ministries to establish financial support standards for areas beyond the limits of volunteer work."
