Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun refuted the opposition lawmaker's point at the parliamentary audit and expressed regret over the controversy over the use of profanity disparaging the disabled.

Minister Kim refuted the allegations of preparation for martial law by using such an expletive when Hwang Hee, a lawmaker of the Democratic Party of Korea, said, "It is not good for a person in a uniform to show such an attitude."

In response, Hwang pointed out the minister's attitude toward responding, and when other opposition lawmakers, including Park Sun-won of the Democratic Party, criticized Kim's response and attitude, Kim argued that he should be polite.

However, Minister Kim apologized, saying he was sorry that the expression was a little excessive before the afternoon meeting began due to the controversy over "demeaning the disabled."
