Itaewon Special Investigation Committee Request 'Prohibition of Disposal of Records' to the President's Office

A special investigation committee for the fact-finding of the Itaewon disaster and prevention of recurrence has sent an official letter to government agencies asking them to ban the disposal of records related to the disaster.

The special investigation committee said today (9th) that it sent an official letter to government agencies such as the Presidential Office, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, and the National Police Agency.

The records requested by the special investigation committee to ban disposal are the entire records related to the disaster created five years ago until the special investigation team ended its activities as of October 29, 2022, when the Itaewon disaster occurred.

It also includes work materials from public institutions, work schedules of the president, ministers, and heads of institutions, and memos.
