The U.S. appears to have signaled that an all-out war with Iran should be avoided, with Israel warning it would launch "deadly and surprising attacks."

Since Iran's missile attack on the 1st, Israel has expressed its willingness to retaliate with harsh words.

Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Galant stressed that it would be a "deadly and surprising attack."

[Joab Galant / Israeli Defense Minister] Our attacks on Iran will be deadly, sophisticated and most of all surprising. They will only see the consequences without understanding what happened and how.]

U.S. President Joe Biden, who opposes attacks on Iran's nuclear and oil facilities, spoke to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the first time in about two months.

Even if they sympathize with the attack on Iran, they seem to have expressed their opposition to an all-out war.

This is due to concerns that the Middle East crisis could work in Trump's favor in the U.S. presidential election less than a month away.

[Karyn Jean-Pierre / White House Press Secretary] The two leaders had productive and frank talks. What I want to be clear is that we cannot and will not see Lebanon becoming another Gaza. That's not what we want to see.

Iran, which supports Hezbollah and Hamas, meets with Middle Eastern countries one after the other, starting with Saudi Arabia.

The outcome of the talks is drawing attention as Hezbollah has indicated that it can also discuss a "no-conditions ceasefire."

[Abbas Arakchi / Iranian Foreign Minister: The Zionist regime is committing crimes in Lebanon and Gaza. Discussing how to help Lebanese refugees and regional issues is the main goal of the Middle East tour.]

The fighting continued despite diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire.

Israel says it has bombed southern Lebanon's capital Beirut, Hezbollah's stronghold, and dismantled weapons storage.

Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets into northern Israel, killing two civilians.

Meanwhile, the European Union and Turkiye have begun to provide relief aid for Lebanese refugees in earnest.
