It has been confirmed that the police are considering whether to add a charge of "hazardous driving manslaughter" to Da-hye, the daughter of former President Moon Jae In, who caused a drunk accident early on the 5th.

Yongsan Police Station in Seoul is considering charging Da-hye with drunk driving and dangerous driving death under the Specific Crime Weighted Penalty Act as well as a taxi driver who crashed into Da-hye's drunk vehicle complained of pain.

Hazardous driving death charges are applied when driving a car when it is difficult to drive normally due to drinking or drug effects.

The level of punishment is higher than that of the Road Traffic Act or the Special Act on the Handling of Traffic Accidents, as punishment can be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison in case of injury and up to life in case of death.

The police also said they are looking into whether Da-hye can be charged with other drunk driving-related charges, such as signal violations, parking violations, and reckless driving.

Earlier, Da-hye was booked by police at around 2:50 a.m. on the 5th in front of Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon-dong, Seoul, for driving while intoxicated with the level of license cancellation and rearranging with a taxi that followed.
