The appointment of the first candidate for the new short track coach of the national team has been put on hold due to the belated history of match manipulation.

The Korea Skating Union said it has put the appointment on hold due to suspicions that A, who had been selected as the first candidate through the process of appointing a short track coach, was punished for his involvement in match fixing.

The ice skating federation explained that it is currently planning to ask Mr. A to confirm the crime and hold a board meeting again to decide whether to appoint him or not.

The ice skating federation was planning to select A as the first candidate and appoint him through the board of directors, but confirmed allegations that he was fined in 2010 for conspiring with other coaches to win certain high school players.
