[Gyeonggi] Yongin-si gives honor to Cheoinseong, Goryeo's Daemong Uprising Site

Yongin City said it will give honorary road names to some roads in Namsa-eup, Cheoin-gu, so that future generations can remember the history of leading the Battle of Cheoinseong to victory in the Great Dream Uprising of the Goryeo Dynasty.

The honorary road name is not used as an actual legal address, but it can be given through deliberation by the address information committee of the local government for the purpose of honoring historical events or figures.The city of

will give honorary road names to the 13km section of Bongmyeong-ri 386-7 in Namsa-eup and Seo-ri 203-6 in Dong-eup as "Kim Yun-hu Seungjang-ro" and the 59-667 1.1km section of Agok-ri in Namsa-eup as "Cheoin Bugok Min-gil."

Earlier in June, the city decided to give the name of the honorary road after reviewing it with the recommendation of the Yongin Buddhist Siam Association and the Yongin Buddhist God Church.The city of

will collect citizen opinions on this by the end of this month and announce the name of the honorary road as early as December through deliberation by the Address Information Committee.

This is the first time that an honorary road name has been given in Yongin.
