The Ministry of National Defense said Minister Kim Yong-hyun had his first video call with the newly inaugurated Japanese Defense Minister Ken Nakatani and discussed ways to develop defense exchanges and cooperation between Korea and Japan.

Minister Kim said at the meeting that Korea and Japan should work closely together as key partners in sharing values and interests, and Defense Minister Nakatani reportedly responded.
