Prosecutors return the entire 11.7 billion won in breach of trust for the head of a local housing union to the union.

The Changwon District Prosecutors' Office said it returned 11.7 billion won in additional fines confirmed in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, to the victims through the process of returning crime-damaged property.

The prosecution requested additional compensation for the property of A, the suspect in the breach of trust case in 2020.

Mr. A deposited 16.5 billion won to the court to release it, but other creditors carried out the seizure of the deposit.

In May, the court confirmed a three-year prison sentence and an additional 11.7 billion won in fines for A in connection with the breach of trust case.

When the additional fine was confirmed and the money was passed on to other creditors, the prosecution proceeded with the process of returning the crime-damaged property and returned 11.7 billion won to the union.

Mr. A and the head of a local housing union were charged with causing about 11.7 billion won in damage by making the union buy real estate at an expensive price, and were sentenced to three years in prison and two and a half years in prison, respectively.

The appeals court also ordered a joint additional 11.7 billion won.
