Nepal's teenage mountaineer has become the youngest to complete all 14 of the world's 8,000-m-class peaks.

According to foreign media such as AFP and BBC News on the 9th (local time), 18-year-old Nepalese mountaineer Nima Lindsey Sherpa stepped on the summit of Tibet's Himalayan Gobong Shishapangma (8,27 meters above sea level) at 6:05 a.m.

He broke the previous record of the youngest 14-legged finish set by another Nepalese mountaineer, Mingma Kiabu David Sherpa, in 2019, when he was 30.

Nima Lindsey started climbing the 8,000-meter high starting with Manaslu (8,163 meters) in August 2022 when she was 16 years old, and last June she reached the top of Kanchenjunga (8,586 meters), the third highest in the world, leaving only one of the 14 seats left."This climb is not only the pinnacle of my personal journey, but also a tribute to all Sherpas who are trying to push past the traditional limits given to them," said

Nima Lindsey after the successful ascent.

"We're not just guides, we're pioneers," he said.

Sherpa is also the first name and surname of Nepal (姓), commonly used to mean mountaineering guides.

Sherpas have not been noticed in climbing history by staying in climbing support roles such as porters, climbing route guidance, and rope maintenance, but more and more people have recently challenged the record directly under their names.

Kamirita Sherpa, a 54-year-old veteran Nepalese mountain climber in her 50s, set a new record for climbing the world's highest peak Everest (8,848.86 m) 30 times in May.

In 2021, a 10-member Nepalese Sherpa climbing team succeeded in climbing K2 (8,611 m) in winter for the first time in mountainous history.

Nima Lindsey, who comes from a Sherpa mountaineer family, also set several records by jumping into the climbing race early on.

He holds the record for the youngest Nanga Parbat (8,126 meters) as well as the youngest mountaineer to climb Everest and the nearby summit of Gobong Loce (8,516 meters) in 10 hours.
