President Yoon Suk Yeol held his first summit with Japan's new Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba on the occasion of his attendance at the ASEAN Summit.

President Yoon Suk Yeol held his first summit at a hotel in Vientiane, Laos' capital, nine days after Ishiba's inauguration.After President Yun

To mark the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan next year, he emphasized the leap in relations that the people of the two countries can feel.

Prime Minister Ishiba also agreed to continue shuttle diplomacy, saying that close cooperation between the two countries is important for regional stability and peace under the current strategic environment.

At the 40-minute summit, the presidential office said, the two countries expressed concern about North Korea's missile threat and agreed that military cooperation between Russia and North Korea was also illegal.

In addition, we decided to cooperate to send a stern warning message to North Korea and those supporting it, saying that the responsibility for the escalation of tensions on the Korean Peninsula should not be passed on to Korea, South Korea, and Japan.
