When the news of Han Kang's Nobel Prize in Literature was reported last evening (10th), the bookstore continues to seek the artist's work.

As soon as the bookstore opened, some citizens 'open-run' to get books.

I'll go to the bookstore to see how it is now. Reporter Kim Lee Young!

Yes, it's in Kyobo Bookstore in Seoul.

There's a stack of books in the back, and it's Han Kang's book, right?

[Reporter]
Yes, there is a special section displaying the works of Han Kang behind me.

It was arranged right after the announcement of the Nobel Prize in Literature last night.

As the purchase procession continued from last night, the display volume quickly ran out.

I also managed to pick up a copy like this.

It's a book by Han Kang.

A little while ago, [The Vegetarian] and [Here Comes the Boy], famous for winning Man Booker awards, were stocked, so the waiting line got longer again.

This morning, as soon as I opened the bookstore, I could see him 'open running' to get a book.

Citizens waited in line for entry about an hour before the bookstore opened.

The enthusiasm was so great that some citizens brought a small cart to hold books.

Let's hear from a high school student who visited the bookstore.

[Kim Changyup / Hongje-dong, Seoul: I hope to take this opportunity to read it after the college entrance exam. I thought about it and came to buy it, but it's all sold out....]

Several bookstores, including here, are quickly welcoming citizens who are visiting Han River's books by setting up special sections for Han River writers on their websites, expanding their shelves offline. There were some places where all the books

were sold out and pre-sale or additional supplies were secured.

It is one of the world's top three literary awards, and it is expected to be an opportunity to meet the author's representative works such as "The Vegetarian," "The Boy Is Coming," "White," and "Never Say Goodbye."

[Yang Myung-sook/Literature Part Director of Kyobo Bookstore Gwanghwamun Branch: All the books that had about 200 books were released yesterday. Today, we're going to have a maximum of 100 to 300 copies per bell, and I think we'll use up all of that within today.]

What was the reaction of citizens on their way to work at the news of the Han River writer's award?

[Reporter]
Citizens on their way to work, who met in nearby Gwanghwamun, also congratulated Han Kang on the news of his Nobel Prize.

It is the second time that a Korean has won a Nobel Prize after the late former President Kim Dae Jung, who received the Peace Prize in 2000.

As such, the reaction was that I was proud, and that I felt good as if I had won an award.

[Kim Minseo / Pyeongchang-dong, Seoul: I am proud of myself as a Korean. I always drop by the bookstore after work on Fridays, but I will make sure to stop by and read Han Kang's book today.]

[Park Geun / Haengdang-dong, Seoul: It's hard, but it's sold a lot, so I think I want to try it. It's been a long time since we received this award, so I was proud of it..]

Some people may think that they should stop by a bookstore on their way home from work.

As today is Friday, just before the weekend, the bookstore is expected to be crowded with people looking for Han Kang's work in the afternoon.

So far, I'm YTN Kim Yi-young at Kyobo Bookstore in Seoul.
