It hasn't even been a day since Han Kang won the Nobel Prize in Literature.

As the search for the artist's work continued even before the bookstore opened, the volume was sold out.

Let's go to the bookstore to see what the situation is like right now. Reporter Kim Lee Young!

I still see a lot of citizens.

You're still coming, right?

[Reporter]
Yes, the works of Han Kang are stacked in a special corner that you can see behind me.

A little while ago, a notice board was installed that said, "All the books in the bookstore today have been exhausted."

It has been bustling since the morning until now, and there is even a photo zone on one side, where visitors are taking commemorative photos in order.

In particular, there were many people who wanted to get books by Han Kang during lunchtime for office workers.

Let's listen to it for ourselves.

[Park Il / Guro 3-dong, Seoul: I came here using lunch time, but I think it's better to come out earlier. [I'm so happy that I bought a lot, so I'm going to give a gift to my friends after hearing the good news]

[Moon Jin-sun / Wolgye-dong, Seoul: Your father is also a writer. I used to be a fan, but I only have one copy of "The Vegetarian" at home, so I'm celebrating it now.... There are so many lines, and it's so nice.]

This morning, I was able to see you 'open running' while waiting even before the bookstore opened.

Citizens waited in line for entry about an hour before the bookstore opened.

Some citizens even brought small carts to hold books, and major bookstores, including here, are welcoming visitors by setting up a special section for Han River writers on each website and expanding their shelves offline. There were some places where all the books

were sold out and pre-sale or additional supplies were secured.

It is expected to be an opportunity to meet the author's representative works such as "The Vegetarian," which won the world's three largest literary awards, "The Boy Is Coming," "White," and "I Don't Say Goodbye."

[Yang Myung-sook/Literature Part Director of Kyobo Bookstore Gwanghwamun Branch: All the books that had about 200 books were released yesterday. Today, we're going to have a maximum of 100 to 300 copies per bell, and I think we'll use up all of that within today.]

Are the citizens celebrating, too?

[Reporter]
That's right.From

high school students to Korean-Americans who started reading as soon as they bought the book and citizens on their way to work, they congratulated each other.

It is the second time that a Korean has won a Nobel Prize after the late former President Kim ∀, who won the Peace Prize in 2000,

Many citizens looked proud of the news of the award.

[Yang Hyungjin / Sangam-dong, Seoul: There are a lot of friends who like Han Kang, so it's like celebrating the award....]

[Lee Ki-bong / Seattle, Washington, USA] I didn't ride it, but I'm very proud and surprised. [I want to give something I read to those who work in Seattle]

[Park Soo-wan / Yonggang-dong, Seoul: I'm a bit proud and I wanted to read it. I think this writer became interested in literature and other novels.

With the news of Korea's first Nobel Prize in Literature, bookstores are expected to continue to be crowded with citizens visiting Han Kang's works.

So far, I'm YTN Kim Yi-young at Kyobo Bookstore in Seoul.
