The ruling and opposition parties, who spent the first week of the 22nd National Assembly's first parliamentary audit, have been engaged in a series of war of nerves over the issue of witnesses to the parliamentary audit.

The People's Power criticized the large opposition party for issuing excessive orders to accompany witnesses who did not attend, but the Democratic Party of Korea set the day that only witnesses related to the Kim Gun-hee allegation were absent.

The People's Power criticized the Democratic Party, which has a large number of seats, for turning the first week of the parliamentary audit into a political battleground.

Following the unilateral adoption of witnesses, six cases were processed within three days of the start of the parliamentary inspection, far exceeding the average of 2.6 cases a year.

In particular, the opposition party was asked to attend the prosecution's investigation into the "Democratic National Convention Money Envelope Case."

[BAE JUN YOUNG / Deputy floor leader of People's Power: The inspection of the National Assembly is not related to the lives of the people, leaving only deflated political filth balloons. He is pretending to be a prosecutor by overusing the right to accompany him at the parliamentary inspection.

On the other hand, the Democratic Party, which predicted an all-out offensive with the suspicion of Kim Gun-hee, including the stock price manipulation and the controversy over the receipt of luxury bags, took issue with the witness attendance rate.

He pointed out that witnesses related to Kim's allegations have not appeared, and that it is a behavior that ignores the National Assembly.

The National Assembly's Education Committee, which is headed by the Democratic Party of Korea, launched a complaint after witnesses related to the alleged plagiarism of Kim's master's and doctoral dissertations did not appear and did not comply with the accompanying order.

[Kim Young-ho / Chairman of the National Assembly Education Committee, Democratic Party of Korea: I would like to file a complaint against you for not attending without justifiable reasons and avoiding the receipt of an accompanying order. We believe that we have no choice but to take strong measures to make them appear on the next request day.

The ruling and opposition parties also clashed over the issue of a permanent special prosecution.

The Democratic Party of Korea warned that the previously proposed request for Kim Gun-hee's permanent special prosecution includes punishment for witnesses who did not attend the parliamentary audit.

[Park Chan-dae / Minjoo Party floor leader: We may avoid attending the parliamentary inspection for a while, but we cannot avoid the special prosecutor's investigation. Don't think about being investigated by the special prosecutor later, and please attend the National Assembly in good faith.]

On the other hand, the People's Power responded by saying that the Democratic Party's attempt to revise the National Assembly rules, which excludes the right to recommend the ruling party, is illegal and unconstitutional.

[Choo Kyung-ho / People's Power Floor Leader: (Democratic Party) is going to pass the revision of the National Assembly rules for a permanent special prosecutor to recommend a special prosecutor that suits his taste. There is no precedent for a particular party to monopolize the right to recommend special prosecutors.]

The battle between the opposition party, which is waging a wave of attacks over the suspicion of Kim Gun-hee, and the ruling party, which focuses on the defense war by countering the Democratic Party's judicial risk, is expected to heat up.
