A close aide of Shin Young-dae admits charges in first trial of 'distortion of opinion poll'

During the last general election, some of his aides, who were put on trial for distorting public opinion polls in the party's primary campaign, admitted the charges in their first trial.

The Seoul Northern District Court held its first hearing today (11th) for Lee and Kang, the secretary-general of the Gunsan Sports Council, who were handed over to trial on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act.

When asked by the judge whether he admitted the indictment, Lee answered briefly that he admitted it, but Kang did not admit or deny the charges, saying that much of the copying of the evidence record was not carried out.

They were put on trial for opening about a hundred mobile phones to respond to the primary polls and distorting the polls to help Shin Young-dae in the Democratic Party's internal primary poll conducted in March.
