As Israel continues its ground war against the pro-Iranian militant group Hezbollah, another U.N. peacekeeping force has been injured in Lebanon.

The U.N. peacekeeping force said a member of the group was shot and operated at a hospital on the night of the 11th local time around a base in southern Lebanon.

The peacekeeping force explained, "We have not yet determined where the shooting came from."

As a result, the number of U.N. peacekeepers injured has increased to five since Israel sent ground troops to southern Lebanon on the 30th of last month.

Earlier on the morning of the 11th local time, two Sri Lankan soldiers were injured in an explosion near the roadside of the Nakura base, and two Indonesian soldiers were injured by artillery shells fired by Israeli tanks on the 10th.

In addition, the UN peacekeeping base in Ramya, Lebanon, near the Israeli border on the night of the 11th was severely damaged by an explosion nearby.

The U.N. military said to Israel and Hezbollah, "We have an obligation to ensure the safety of U.N. members and facilities," and stressed, "This includes avoiding combat activities near U.N. bases."
