North Korea, which has continued to cut off the inter-Korean relations, has exploded the Gyeongui Line and the East Sea Line roads, increasing anxiety among residents of the border area.

There is a reporter in the border area, and we will find out the atmosphere of the site.

Yes, it is at the Jangsan Observatory in Paju, Gyeonggi-do.

How's the atmosphere there?

[Reporter]
Yes, I can see North Korean land far behind me, but it's foggy, so I can't see it clearly.

Our reporters have been here since about 2 p.m. today after North Korea blew up the Gyeongui and East Sea lines connecting the South and the North.

The North Korean area, which is far from the observatory, is quiet without any special movement.

The South Korean military said it fired back at areas south of the military demarcation line after North Korea blew up roads,

While I was out here, I could occasionally hear what was believed to be a gunshot.

Let's take a look at the video we filmed ourselves.

As North Korea strengthens inter-Korean disconnection measures, anxiety among residents in the border area has not subsided.

In the meantime, residents have complained of difficulties with North Korea's loudspeaker broadcasts to the South, but they have been unable to let go of the tension as North Korea's threat of artillery readiness and the explosion of roads between the two Koreas.

Recently, there are complaints among residents of the border area that the tension between the two Koreas has directly affected their livelihoods, such as cancellation of travel reservations.

The residents we met in this area conveyed a different recent atmosphere than before.

Let's listen to it.

[Ha Young-soo / Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do: I've lived here for about 50 years, but I was very anxious during the willow incident before. (Recently) I'm worried because I heard they're going to blow up the bridge.]

I don't know if it was loud because it exploded over there, but it was a bit loud for two days. Fang Fang, like now....]

Earlier, North Korea has been cutting off from South Korea since defining the two Koreas as two countries.

Tensions and anxiety in the region are growing as they ordered artillery units in the border area to be fully prepared for firing and blew up roads connecting the Gyeongui Line and the East Sea Line.

So far, I'm YTN Shin Gwihye in Paju border area.
