President Yoon Suk Yeol met with North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum to discuss ways to expand cooperation between South Korea and North Dakota and develop the Korea-U.S. alliance.President


Yoon said North Dakota, which dispatched 27,000 soldiers to fight for the freedom of the Republic of Korea during the Korean War, has a special relationship with South Korea and hopes that cooperation between the two sides will expand in many ways.

He also asked for an active role in the development of the Korea-U.S. alliance on the occasion of this visit to Korea.

In response, Governor Burgum responded by saying that he strongly supports the Washington Declaration, which promised to strengthen nuclear deterrence against North Korea between South Korea and the U.S., and that he will continue to play a role in continuing the development of the South Korea-U.S. alliance.
