Arrest indictment of a high school student who produced and sold deepfakes

A teenager who made and sold deepfake sexual exploitation using pictures of classmates or teachers was put on trial in custody.

The Ansan branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office yesterday (15th) arrested and indicted a high school student A on charges of violating the Youth Sex Protection Act.

A is accused of creating 321 videos, including sexual exploitation and false videos, by combining the faces of 13 students, including 10 classmates and teachers, with naked pictures for five months from February.

He is also accused of selling 116 videos made in this way.

It was investigated that A made a video by receiving requests from people who contacted him after seeing an advertisement post on SNS or using photos of the victim himself.

Earlier, the police found A's post on social media and arrested him under the guise of purchasing the video.
