"Possibly true about North Korea's reported dispatch of troops to Ukraine...Tracking"

It has been confirmed that the South Korean government is closely tracking reports that North Korea sent troops to help Russia, which invaded Ukraine, believing that it may be true.

The National Intelligence Service explained that it is also working with the Ukrainian side to confirm the facts when asked by the Ukrainian media about the reported dispatch of North Korean troops.

"The Ministry of Defense is also closely following the possibility of North Korean troops or civilian personnel being provided to Russia," it said.

An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the South Korean government is closely monitoring the trend of military cooperation with Russia, including related reports.

He also said he was gravely concerned by reports that cooperation between Russia and North Korea was expanding not only to arms trade but also to weapons production and military personnel dispatch.

At the same time, he stressed that any cooperation that directly or indirectly helps North Korea's military buildup is subject to international monitoring and sanctions for violating UN Security Council resolutions, and once again calls for an end to illegal military cooperation between Russia and North Korea.
